There are 3 steps in our specialist healthcare service :
- Clinic Consultation
- Diagnostic & Ultrasound Imaging
- Procedural Treatment & Intervention
The latest laser techniques are less invasive and cause less discomfort than old fashioned varicose vein surgery.
Unsightly veins can also appear in other places, like the face. Laser treatments for facial veins are best treated by our qualified medical professionals.
Endovenous Laser Ablation
Globally, laser surgery is considered the first-line treatment option for varicose veins. It involves the use of a laser beam powerful enough to deliver a thermal ablative dose into a diseased vein. This seals the vein and helps restore healthy circulation.
Venous Ulcers
Complex and severe venous ulcers often cause severe pain and disability, lasting months or years. With proper treatment, venous ulcers heal in weeks, though still may require specialised ulcer dressings and sometimes debridement in an operating theatre. We are equiped to manage this without the need for hospitalisation.
Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherpay
Injecting a medical adhesive into varicose & spider veins remains the gold standard for the treatment of significant venous disease. The foam glues the walls of the affected vein together and is an effective accompaniment to Endovenous Laser Ablation.
Pre-treatment Consents
Consent is a mandatory requirement for medical procedures in Australia. We ensure that the right plan is provided to you and that all the benefits and risks of performing the procedure have been properly explained and understood by you.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy & Micro-ligation
The use of micro-surgical and minimally invasive methods are often required as an essential adjunct to the overall management of severe varicose veins. These services are provided on a strictly walk-in walk-out basis.
Specialist Consultation
HealthiVein offer face-to-face specialist clinical consultation, providing complex disease evaluation, treatment and planning with an informed consent process.
Ultrasound Diagnostic Imaging
Our specialist vascular sonologists create image maps of your veins for diagnosis –essential for proper treatment plans. You will not need a separate specialist appointment with us because we provide the full service from consultation to treatment.
Compression Therapy
Compression therapy is the single most important non-invasive therapy for venous disorders. Wearing compression stockings after invasive treatment is almost always required.

Micro-ligations
The treatment cycle for vein problems consists of three stages: consulting, imaging and then the procedure. The course of procedural treatment is chosen to precisely coincide with diagnosis and we carefully explain the risks and expectations associated with a given procedure. In almost all cases, there is a range of treatment options available and your doctor will discuss each one with you.
You evaluate each treatment option and decide on the best course. Your doctor may advise that a particular procedure is the best option, but ultimately it is the patient’s prerogative.
World-class Operating Facilities
Our specialist phlebologists use state-of-the-art facilities to carry out the latest vein treatments for diverse venous disorders. Innovative developments in tech have resulted in new treatments, less invasive and quicker than they were 20 years ago.
With the facilities and staff to cover all clinical, diagnostic and procedural aspects of treatment, there is no need to for any other specialists appointments. We handle the entire treatment cycle.
Varicose Veins
Healthy legs have good circulation and veins. Healthy veins work with your leg muscles. They work together to pump returning blood to the heart. Varicose veins occur when the one-way valves in a vein don’t close properly. When a valve fails, blood can pool and also cause the vein wall to stretch and weaken. Visible blue veins can appear – either small spider veins or bulging veins.
Varicose veins can be painful. They can cause swelling, throbbing and leg cramps. There is no known cure for varicose veins, but fixing them can help prevent your condition worsening and hinder more severe problems developing over time. When varicose veins are treated properly, they DO NOT come back. This must not be confused with new veins becoming abnormal, which are more than likely to occur if the patient has some predisposition to developing varicose veins.

Is Laser better than surgery?
Absolutely. Using lasers is one of the latest developments in vein treatment. The fine laser probe is inserted into the diseased varicose vein and the tip of the laser is revealed as it is withdrawn, which closes off the vein. This procedure is done with a local anaesthetic. It is a minimally invasive technique used for treating varicose veins and spider veins.
Laser isn’t as painful than Vein Surgery (Ligation and Stripping) because it is less invasive and it has a shorter recovery time.
Do I need to stay in hospital?
No. All treatments are done with day surgery. There is no need for bed rest. The treatment is often referred to as walk–in, walk–out because patients are literally required to walk immediately after treatment.
Will abnormal leg veins progressively worsen?
Veins are unable to repair themselves and if left un-treated will worsen over time.
Do the varicose veins come back after treatment?
No. When varicose veins are treated properly, they DO NOT come back. This must not be confused with new veins corrupting, which are more than likely to occur and more so if the patient has some predisposition.
ARE ALL UNSIGHTLY LEG VEINS ABNORMAL?
Yes. Any vein which does not assist with the return of blood to the heart is abnormal and may require treatment.
